Polina underwent complex examinations and an EEG, according to the results of which she was consulted by a doctor

Polina is a cheerful and creative girl. She loves to sing and play with her dog, Buddy. She has several diagnoses, including a heart defect and a broken forearm due to a difficult birth. When the hole in her heart healed and it seemed the worst was behind her, in January 2024, she began having epileptic seizures. She complained, "I'm going to fall," and one day, she actually did. Examinations revealed epileptiform brain activity. During the most difficult periods, seizures occurred up to 20-30 times a day. Medications only partially helped, reducing the number of seizures to five per day. After a new treatment regimen, her symptoms subsided, but unfortunately, the seizures returned. Epilepsy also affects her development: she has difficulty communicating with her peers, she can't pronounce some words, and she changes the sounds of others. It's critically important to undergo additional testing so doctors can select an effective treatment and restore Polina's remission.
