There are only 2 rehabilitation centres for people with disabilities in Novorossiysk. One deals with rehabilitation of children and the other with rehabilitation of people from 0 to 60 years old. Both centres provide services to people with disabilities free of charge. The load on the centres is enormous and the institutions are not able to meet the demand for rehabilitation services because, unfortunately, there are so many disabled people in Novorossiysk.
Our project will help one of the centres to increase "capacity" by 100% by actually splitting it into 2 full units. The project encompasses the efforts of the local authorities and two charitable foundations in Novorossiysk.
Two separate units of the rehabilitation centre will allow the reception of beneficiaries by age group. The city administration has allocated premises for rehabilitation and habilitation of persons over 18 years old, and the charitable foundations need to take care of partially equipping the new unit with key equipment.
We ask for your help in acquiring a lifting platform for the entrance group, as without it it is very difficult for people with disabilities to get into the centre. A ramp that meets all the requirements cannot, unfortunately, be built at the new premises. A platform is the only way to provide an accessible environment.
The lift costs 400,000 roubles and we are asking for your help in paying half of the cost of the equipment.
The platform will serve the centre for at least 10 years, more than 2 500 people with disabilities will receive services in this unit of the centre in a year, and at least 25,000 people will receive services in 10 years.
