Muhammad was born with osteogenesis imperfecta and epidermolysis bullosa. This means that any movement is fraught with a fracture for him, and any careless touch is an injury. During the first year of his life, the baby has already had to go through a lot. Muhammad's handles were broken, and doctors in St. Petersburg operated on him and installed pins. The Butterfly Children Foundation helped organize the treatment.
The boy grows up in a large family where he is loved and cared for, but caring for a baby requires a lot of money. The Butterfly Children Foundation has been supporting Muhammad since birth, providing him with medical supervision, care products, and special dressings.
Bandages for EB are like a layered pie, inside of which there are atraumatic coatings, sterile non-woven napkins, soft pads on the most injured areas, and much more. All this is fixed with special super-soft bandages and is not cheap. Conventional bandages are not suitable for patients with EB – they stick to wounds and further injure the skin.
We are currently raising funds for bandages for Muhammad for 2 months. Regular bandages are the only chance for him to grow and develop normally.
