Autumn has arrived, and villagers are preparing for winter and the cold weather. This includes our beneficiaries – families in difficult circumstances from the Smolensk region. Most of them live in old, poorly insulated houses without gas boilers and rely on wood stoves for heating. Therefore, their only option for staying warm is to stock up on firewood for the winter.
But not every family can prepare for the cold weather. Often, our beneficiaries, who for various reasons find themselves in difficult circumstances, are unable to purchase firewood for the heating season. Moreover, a cold home can lead to a child being removed to an orphanage.
The "Children are Ours" foundation helps families prepare for the cold weather so that their children remain with their parents and never end up in an orphanage! Currently, five beneficiaries from the Smolensk region need our support. Each needs five cubic meters of firewood for the heating season. Part of the funds will be used to pay the foundation's social worker, who supports families and helps them develop an individualized plan to overcome difficult situations.
