Alina was 10 years old when she was hit by a car. After that incident, a crosswalk was made at that intersection, where children crossed the road after school at a nearby school. And at that time there was none. For this reason the driver, who crippled the life of a child, did not bear any responsibility. And Alina received a head injury and turned from a cheerful successful schoolgirl into an invalid.
Prior to treatment at the Three Sisters Center, Alina's condition following the accident changed very little. She remained in so-called "diminished consciousness": she breathed and ate through special tubes, did not focus her eyes. And her relatives didn't even know if she could hear them, if she was thinking about something or if she was in pain. It was only at the Three Sisters Center that her mother heard her daughter's voice for the first time since the accident - Alina managed to give a sign that she was in pain, and her mother corrected her head. Then the girl began to breathe a little on her own and eat strained food - through her mouth, not through a tube in her stomach. So the family had hope.
Now Alina's mother is waiting for the baby. When he is born she will not have an opportunity to go for treatment with Alina. And now she does not have that opportunity due to lack of money. But the specialists of the center have big plans for this course - to increase a portion of food which Alina will be able to eat by herself, to increase the time of independent breathing to 1 hour, to teach Alina to sit in the carriage and to hold her head for a few minutes. These seemingly small results can greatly improve the life of Alina and her family.
