Olga met her future husband, Pyotr, when they were both growing up in an orphanage. Both were children who had lost their families at an early age. While still in the orphanage, they decided to start a family and go through life together. Later, they had twins, Andryusha and Marina.
The young family's financial situation is challenging. Pyotr has a disability that limits his ability to work, but he is solely responsible for providing for them. Olga is fully engaged in caring for the children and is unable to find work. The family lives in a communal apartment in an old building, in a small, poorly renovated room. Child protection authorities became concerned about the children's living conditions. Olga turned to the foundation for help to prevent them from being placed in an orphanage.
The foundation's social worker supports the family, helping them develop an individualized plan to overcome their difficult situation.
This collection will allow us to pay for a month's work for a social worker, who simultaneously supports 12 families in crisis. Thanks in large part to the social worker's work, the children in these families are able to live at home with their families, rather than in an orphanage.
