For a year now, efforts have been underway to mitigate the negative consequences of the environmental disaster associated with the sinking of two tankers in the Black Sea.
There were periods when it seemed that new fuel oil spills were decreasing. But recently, the situation has worsened dramatically – fuel oil slicks have begun washing up on the shores of the Anapa and Temryuk districts. The damage to flora and fauna is colossal, and this disaster is not localized. Disasters of this scale leave a lasting impact on the ecosystem.
Local people – including emergency services personnel, workers from various companies, and ordinary volunteers – have not stopped cleaning up the shoreline of fuel oil, and within a year, there is virtually no one left who has not directly or indirectly helped the sea.
Such a long period of work has naturally led to a depletion of resources for everyone financing or organizing the work on the shore. Currently, there is a severe shortage of food for the volunteers.
