Rabiya calls the doctors at the Rogachev Center her friends. When she gets an injection or an IV drip, she doesn't cry but watches their actions carefully. The little girl is seven years old, and she dreams of becoming a pediatrician. For now, she treats her LOL dolls and believes that one day she will work in a real clinic.
Just a year ago, Rabiya's life was completely different. She used to run around at children's play centers, go for walks with her parents, and sculpt with play-doh. But in February of last year, everything changed: doctors diagnosed her with ulcerative colitis, and then with a "congenital immune deficiency." This means the girl's immune system doesn't work properly - it doesn't produce important protective cells. Because of this, Rabiya is completely defenseless against any infections, and a common cold leads to serious and dangerous complications.
Rabiya now needs expensive therapy - medications that will control her illness and give her a chance to regain a normal childhood: to go to school without missing weeks due to flare-ups, to go for walks, to simply live. Let's come together to help her get this chance!
