Nikita is 6 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. Born at 28 weeks in critical condition, he faced a grueling start to life. Due to extreme prematurity and complications, he underwent a series of surgeries on his esophagus and stomach, suffered a brain hemorrhage, and spent 10 days in intensive care. This resulted in central nervous system damage and developmental delays.
Nikita’s medical history is a journey of resilience. His first two years were spent in operating rooms and on life-support machines. Due to prolonged immobility, his muscles were critically weak. However, through consistent therapy in Moscow and Kazan, Nikita made a breakthrough: progressing from complete immobility to crawling on all fours and walking confidently while holding onto support.
Currently, rehabilitation is vital for speech development and mastering the ability to chew, which is hindered by sensory processing issues. Specialists see great potential: Nikita already mimics animal sounds and identifies colors and shapes. New therapy sessions will help solidify his physical skills and adapt to a life without pain.
Nikita is a very active boy who enjoys working with specialists, playing educational games, and exploring the world around him. Teachers and doctors highlight his persistence and ability to learn—when Nikita sets a goal, he achieves it.
His mother is raising him alone, and all family resources are spent on their mortgage and daily essentials. The family cannot afford the expensive treatment at the "Rodnik" center on their own.
Let’s come together to help Nikita complete his rehabilitation and take a step toward an independent future!
