Sergei celebrated his birthday not long ago, blowing out the candles on his cake with his mother. Nine years ago, immediately after birth, he ended up in intensive care. From the first days of his life, it was clear he would require special care: Sergei has ichthyosis and severe health conditions, making him completely dependent on caregivers.
Serezha, like all children, loves attention, walks, music, cartoons, and exercises to stretch his arms and legs. However, he can't hold up his head or back, his limbs don't function, and every movement requires his mother's help. Despite these difficulties, Sergei is a remarkably resilient boy. He has been on the brink of death several times, but he stubbornly clings to it, delighting his loved ones with his smile and desire to live.
Since March 2023, after a difficult intensive care treatment, Sergei has been fed through a nasogastric tube, as normal feeding posed a risk of aspiration and pneumonia. He now receives specialized therapeutic nutrition that provides the necessary vitamins, calories, and nutrients for growth, health, and strengthening. Without it, maintaining a child's weight and health is impossible.
This nutrition is now essential for Sergei and two other children. The funds raised will provide the children with a two-month supply of food.
Join the fundraiser and together we will help children avoid complications and maintain their strength for new small victories every day.
