Foxy had been on the street for days with an open fracture of her front paw. Volunteers spotted her, contacted us, and we immediately picked her up and took her to the clinic.
We found out when Foxy was examined at the hospital that both her legs had been broken and she had been in great pain for several days. It was not known under what circumstances the dog had sustained such injuries, but even the doctors agreed that it was unlikely it was a car...
Foxy underwent two osteosynthesis surgeries and was fitted with external fixation devices. For a while, Foxy looked like a real terminator. You need to have a character to endure the pain, the treatments, the tests, the procedures... But Foxy, our iron girl, withstood everything. Finally the beautiful day arrived when the x-ray showed everything had healed well and the external brace could be removed.
In June Foxy had another surgery to remove the metal structures. It was a success, and the dog is now in the hospital awaiting discharge. Foxy has already endured so much, let's give her a chance at an active life and a loving family!
