Islam has been ill since birth. He has difficulty speaking – his speech is slurred, and his pronunciation is impaired. He frequently trips and falls, has difficulty climbing stairs, and has significant balance issues.
Following examinations, Islam was diagnosed with atonic-astatic syndrome, dysarthria, articulation disorder, and a cerebellar venous angioma, which affects his coordination and gait.
Amira is his older sister. The girl has severe emotional and volitional disorders: aggression, increased anxiety, tearfulness, and irritability. She is highly sensitive to clothing, sounds, and touch, and often experiences severe emotional stress. She requires the help of psychologists and behavioral specialists.
The family is low-income. The father is the sole breadwinner, and the mother is forced to stay home with the children because she cannot afford to send them to a private daycare.
We are opening a fundraising campaign for Amira and Islam's rehabilitation so they can receive the necessary classes and have a chance to improve their condition, speech development, coordination, and emotional stability.
