Initially, the fundraising campaign was opened for another child, but his parents made the decision to postpone the treatment. To ensure that your donations did not go unused, the foundation promptly redirected the funds to a rehabilitation course for Kolya — a boy with cerebral palsy who was in urgent need of help right now.
For eight-year-old Kolya, the saying "movement is life" has a literal meaning: the child has a serious condition, cerebral palsy. Thanks to you, Kolya has achieved something great: he can stand on his own!
"After the leg surgery, it was very important for us to undergo restorative rehabilitation in time. And Kolya has made huge progress: now he can stand for several minutes on his own, without any support! In addition, sessions with a speech therapist and a special education teacher have improved his speech—Kolya now understands requests like 'put it down' and 'give it,'" his mother Elena shares joyfully.
Elena is deeply grateful to all the donors who made this rehabilitation possible: "I want to say a huge heartfelt thank you. When you have the chance to receive effective, meaningful, and timely help, it brings hope for a better future and confidence in tomorrow."
Thanks to the sessions, Kolya has also begun solving problems that require intelligence and logic, and he has become more active and engaged—as Elena says, the boy has literally developed an interest in life!
Ahead of Kolya and his mother lie many small steps that add up to such important victories, but today, thanks to your help, Kolya is already standing on his own two feet and now has the prospect of moving forward!
