When Lesha was three years old, doctors diagnosed him with mucopolysaccharidosis type II, also known as Hunter disease. This is a severe condition that affects all organs and tissues, including muscles, joints, and bones. As Lesha grew older, the disease left him completely bedridden. His mother, Larisa, is always by his side. Lesha's entire life depends on her.
Larisa has no days off or vacations. To give her the opportunity to regain some of her strength, the foundation found a nanny for Lesha. The nanny, Valentina, is a kind and caring person. She takes excellent care of the boy: she feeds him, gives him water, administers medications, and gives him gentle massages. Lesha quickly became accustomed to the nanny.
While Valentina is busy with the boy, Larisa can go shopping or simply take a walk in the park to get some fresh air. To ensure his mother continues to have this small but vital respite, we are raising funds to hire a nanny for six months. She will help Lesha and two other seriously ill children.
