Vika is two years old, an orphan, and lives in an orphanage. When she needed a complex surgery, followed by months in a cast and recovery, a nanny provided by the Road of Life foundation was there for her.
Her nanny recalls: "Vika is like sunshine from under the clouds! Always with laughing eyes, she adores books and cats. She draws, speaks her first words, and with her, it's like having an angel in our house."
But behind that smile was a struggle. Vika needed a complex surgery, and afterward, she spent a long time in a cast. In December, the cast was removed. Now she's learning to walk again. Every step she takes is a victory, one she and her nanny worked toward together.
Vika's story is about the importance of having the support of an adult who will hug, comfort, and be there for you in difficult times. Vika has that person.
We're raising funds to provide nannies like these for children struggling with their health right now. Let's help other little ones navigate this difficult journey with the same warmth and care that helped Vika.
