Liza Chernova and her sister were born at 33 week of pregnancy and shortly after birth both were diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The girls’ relatives did not give up and immediately started fighting for babies’ health in order not to waste time. But little Liza had hydrocephalus in progress and at seven months she underwent brain surgery and a shunt was installed. For the period of recovery after the operation rehabilitation courses had to be stopped. However, when the doctors’ restrictions were lifted, the struggle for a full life (including regular activities, operations) continued.
Many centers do not accept children with epilepsy for rehabilitation, so most of exercises Liza takes at home with her mom. Now Liza is 17. She is already an adult and every year it becomes more and more difficult for her mom to be a rehabilitation therapist for her daughter.
That is why the family decided to address to Movement Up Charity Foundation” and ask for help in purchasing an Imitron simulator. This is a walking simulator and it will help Liza to be in correct upright position, to exercise, walk and get the necessary physical activity. This is important for the girl because she needs to continue to learn new things, to become more independent. She definitely needs to continue her exercises and together we can help Liza.
