Khadizhat is 8 years old. She and her younger brother, Askhab, are growing up in the same family. Both children have developmental disabilities and desperately need specialist help. Khadizhat was born prematurely, at 30 weeks, weighing just 900 grams. Her first year of life was a real challenge: a month in intensive care, then two more in a hospital for premature babies. She took her first steps at only two years old, and spoke her first words at five. Khadizhat has been diagnosed with speech delay and ADHD. Thanks to ongoing rehabilitation courses, she is making great progress: after each session, improvements are noticeable, new skills are emerging, and self-confidence is growing. Now, Khadizhat needs another rehabilitation course to consolidate her progress and take another step forward. However, the cost of regular classes is prohibitive for the family.
