Islom needs expensive medicines

Eleven-year-old Islom dreams of just one thing — to sit at a school desk again. He loves to study, diligently does all his homework, and independently learns the material he misses due to illness. The boy has a congenital immunodeficiency — a rare mutation in the gene responsible for immunity. Any infection is deadly dangerous for him. Severe bilateral pneumonia, two surgeries, fungus in the brain, intestines, abdominal cavity and nasopharynx, bone destruction — these are just some of the things this child has endured. To keep the disease at bay, Islom needs to regularly take expensive antifungal and anti-inflammatory medications. His family cannot afford to buy them on their own — the cost is too high.
