Doctors monitor Nastya's heart 24 hours a day

In 2017, Nastia Sytnik's heart stopped, and the girl fell into a coma for a month. And when she woke up, she could not breathe, speak, sit, swallow, or focus her eyes on her own. She didn't even recognize her mother. Before the cardiac arrest, the cause of which could not be determined, she was running, playing, reading poetry at a matinee in kindergarten, and after - she lay motionless with a probe or was beating in convulsions. Only for 3-4 hours a day she fell asleep and let her mother Julia sleep. The doctors said, that the brain was very badly damaged, they asked her not to wait for miracles - they would not even take her to rehabilitation with a heart disease. Julia did not listen. She kneaded her daughter's throat with her hands, sang her favorite songs for hours, persuaded the rehab specialists, studied rehabilitation methods. Within a few months she sent the attending physician a video of Nastia drinking from a straw. And when at the next appointment the girl stood on her feet, there was no doubt - Nastia is very good, she will succeed. Now the girl speaks and walks again, she goes to the remedial kindergarten for kids with visual impairments (after coma Nastya cannot see well) and in two years she is ready to go to school with her peers. But Julia still does not sleep well at night: the disease that almost caused her daughter's death has not been diagnosed, and the arrhythmia does not stop even with the medications. Nastia's heart may stop again. "At night I shudder, listening to my daughter's breathing, measuring her pulse. Recently Nastya has been taken away twice by ambulance with a heartbeat of 160 beats per minute", - says Julia. To help Nastya the cause of her arrhythmia has to be determined. To do that, doctors want to implant a long term monitoring device called Reveal into her body. This will help to detect the disease and prevent repeated cardiac arrests.
