Maryam will soon turn seven. She has been diagnosed with psychoverbal developmental delay (PVD), behavioral and emotional disorder, and general speech underdevelopment (GSU) of the first degree. Her parents learned of the diagnosis when she was about eighteen months old. Since then, the family hasn't given up: Maryam has been treated in a psychiatric hospital several times, and for the past three years, she has regularly attended special care centers.
She participates in ABA therapy programs, undergoes neurological correction, and works with a speech therapist. Thanks to the persistence of her parents and specialists, Maryam has learned to speak her first words. She currently continues to be monitored by a psychiatrist. Unfortunately, her difficulties don't end there. Maryam also has vision problems: convergent strabismus and hyperopia (farsightedness) in both eyes.
To further develop and consolidate her progress, she requires a course of rehabilitation therapy. Unfortunately, the family is in a difficult financial situation and cannot afford it.
