Khalid is 13 years old and has autism. He is nonverbal. He was born premature at 33 weeks due to placental abruption. He developed well until he was one year and 10 months old, but then suffered a severe case of pneumonia, which caused a developmental setback. At age three, he was officially diagnosed with autism in Moscow.
Since birth, Khalid has undergone ongoing treatment and rehabilitation. Recently, at the direction of gastroenterologist Dr. Terane, he completed a course of antioxidant and antiparasitic therapy, which produced significant positive results. To consolidate this result and maintain his health, the boy requires daily exercise.
For Khalid, this includes adaptive physical education (APC), ABA therapy, and neurodynamic gymnastics. These activities help him adapt to life. Although a complete cure is impossible, consistent rehabilitation allows him to develop and feel better.
