Veronica needs an ankle brace to maintain her ability to walk

Veronica is 5 years old. While still pregnant, her parents learned of a serious diagnosis: spina bifida. Immediately after birth, she underwent surgery to remove the herniated disc, followed by a lengthy rehabilitation program. Today, Veronica attends kindergarten and enjoys playing and interacting with children. Within the group, she uses special braces and a walker, and outside, she uses a wheelchair. Due to the specific nature of her condition, her muscles cannot hold her feet in the correct position. Without braces, her feet begin to collapse inward, which can lead to severe deformities and joint contractures. Therefore, Veronica vitally needs custom-made braces to help her stand, walk, and remain active. As she grows, her braces need to be replaced every 1–1.5 years. A custom-made ankle brace stabilizes her foot, helps distribute the load correctly, and allows her to walk safely.
