Let’s help cover the costs of veterinary assistants’ work!

When a dog hit by a car on the highway or an emaciated stray cat is brought to the ‘Pitomets’ center, a veterinary assistant is the first to greet them. They secure the animal on the table, insert an IV catheter, prepare it for surgery, and monitor its breathing under anesthesia. It is up to them whether the patient survives those first, most critical hours — the most critical. The assistants manage the inpatient ward: IVs, bandaging, temperature monitoring, scheduled injections, and monitoring post-operative patients. In the operating room, they are responsible for maintaining sterility and preparing for anesthesia. If an assistant misses the moment when an animal’s blood pressure drops, saving it will be much more difficult. Hundreds of dogs and cats pass through the center every month. Behind every animal are hundreds of hours of work by the assistants. Help us raise funds to cover a month’s work for two assistants.
