Makar is a long-awaited and desired child. He was diagnosed with numerous serious conditions, including Dandy-Walker syndrome, cerebral palsy, and a herniated disc. Between the ages of 4 and 7 months, he underwent several complex surgeries. Afterward, he stopped growing. For an entire year, Makar didn't gain a single gram of weight or grow a single centimeter. In May 2023, Makar was hospitalized with an intestinal infection. Severe dehydration caused his kidneys to fail. He spent three days unconscious in intensive care. When he regained consciousness, all the skills he had worked so hard to develop were gone. He couldn't even swallow. He had to relearn how to drink and eat. Makar is now 11 years old. During this time, he has undergone 10 complex surgeries. It wasn't until he was 1 year old that he first picked up a toy, and now he's learning to speak syllables and trying to walk. But Makar doesn't give up. He retains his intelligence and is eager to learn, count, and write. His main goal now is to learn to walk and talk independently. This requires ongoing training with specialists. Makar is expected at the medical center for another rehabilitation course. Each rehabilitation session is another step toward a normal life for Makar—a step he couldn't take without our help. Let's all help Makar!
