Aital and other children diagnosed with spina bifida need psychological help

Spina bifida

Fundación Moscow

Aital will soon turn 14. He grows up without parents and lives in an orphanage. Aital has been diagnosed with spina bifida. Like other children with this diagnosis, he needs the support of a psychologist to help him develop important skills, better understand himself, and cope with the challenges that arise. Children with spina bifida can have challenges that affect their attention, memory, emotional state, communication, and the acquisition of new skills. Sometimes it's difficult for a child to explain what's hindering them from learning, interacting with others, and becoming more independent. It's important to recognize these challenges early and find the right support. The foundation's psychologists will work with Aital and other children with spina bifida for three months. Specialists will help each child better understand their abilities, develop their strengths, learn to manage their emotions, and master the skills needed in everyday life. With this support, children will be able to develop more confidently, adapt more easily to the world around them, and take new steps toward independence.
