Vlad is 2 years old.
Main diagnosis: congenital cerebral malformation (internal communicating hydrocephalus, compensated HCC, lissencephalus on the right side, decreased volume of the right hemisphere). Concomitant diagnoses: cerebral spastic tetraparesis more severe on the left side, bilateral mixed hearing loss of the second and fourth degree, multiple multi-plane contractures of the upper and lower extremities, rampant delay in speech development, severe delay in psycho-emotional development.
Vladislav is our second and long-awaited child. Vladislav was born on week 31 of pregnancy by emergency cesarean section. The boy was immediately hooked up to the ventilator in the intensive care unit of the maternity hospital. On the sixth day the baby's condition became stable, and he was transferred to the department of pathology of premature babies. Vladislav recovered quickly and seemed to be an absolutely healthy baby.
At 4 months of age the MRI scan revealed that the right hemisphere of the brain was almost absent, the right lateral ventricle occupied the whole space, the left hemisphere was growing, but it was displaced in place of the right hemisphere, the skull bones practically did not move or grow. At 6 months, he was diagnosed with cerebral spastic tetraparesis.
Since 7 months of age Vladislav undergoes rehabilitation in rehabilitation centers. Regular exercises at home outside of out-of-town courses do not stop. For two years Vlad has learned to crawl, to stand near the support, to walk along the support, to sit down while lying down, can make 20 steps by himself, tries to work with his left hand, cooperates better with his peers, does many different object actions (like driving a car or building a tower with bricks), understands the spoken language and accepts requests. After sessions with a speech therapist, he started babbling. Now Vlad has no fine motor skills in left hand, equinovalgus deformity of left foot and absent speech.
Without constant rehabilitation and work with specialists, Vladislav will not be able to move forward in his physical and intellectual development. The boy needs constant lessons with a speech therapist, speech therapist, therapeutic massages, physical therapy. All occupations require large material expenses. His father works in the family, his mother had to quit her job.
