Marina is 15 years old and has spent her entire life in an orphanage—her mother abandoned her immediately after birth, as soon as she learned about the diagnosis. Marina has a spinal development anomaly—she cannot walk independently and needs constant assistance.
The foundation arranged for Marina to be examined at a Moskva clinic, and later she underwent foot surgery. We very much hope that the doctors will soon allow Marina to have neurosurgery on her spine, which will help prevent further orthopedic complications.
Marina, along with 12 other orphaned children who came to Moskva for treatment, lives in the foundation’s Social Center. And now the Social Center needs new dishes.
"Those who have children know how often dishes break 'for good luck'," says the foundation’s coordinator, "and our children, most of whom also have fine motor skill difficulties, break them even more often. The current plates are over five years old and look—sad, with chips on some of them. We realized it’s time to replace them."
Please help us purchase new dishes for the Social Center for orphaned children.
