11-year-old Muhammad Muradov wants to become a doctor. This is a big dream, the road to which will take many years. So while a little boy from the Rostov region has a smaller dream - to go to the water park. Here, it would seem, the road is much shorter - only on both paths there is an obstacle in front of it.
The barrier has a scientific name: epidermolysis bullosa, and a simpler, even somewhat frivolous definition: Muhammad is a butterfly child. A similar comparison was born from the fact that the skin of people suffering from this ailment becomes fragile, like the wings of those very butterflies: one touch leads to dire consequences. The skin ceases to fulfill its main function and does not protect the body. As a result, even an inaccurate touch turns into a severe, non-healing wound.
And like a butterfly, Muhammad needs a cocoon - but if insects hide in it only once in a lifetime, the boy is forced to turn to the protective shell much more often. He needs daily dressings. It is a long and painful process, but this is the only way to protect fragile skin. Simple bandages are not enough - they only injure the child, expensive special dressings are required, as well as creams and ointments.
With your help, the Butterfly Children Foundation will be able to collect a box of everything for Muhammad and send it to his family. And the boy will forget about the pain for two months - and will take a couple of steps towards his dreams.
