Sunnatullo was born in Termiz, Uzbekistan, to his mother Maftuna much prematurely. He was very weak at birth and weighed only 1,150 grams. In March 2020, at the ophthalmologist's examination, Maftuna found out for the first time that her son couldn't see. The blindness was due to retinopathy of prematurity. Such children cannot yet be helped in Uzbekistan. His mother raises the baby alone, so she had to take a loan and take Sunnatullo to St. Petersburg for his first surgery. Pediatric ophthalmic surgeons can treat such children here. However, all surgeries for CIS citizens in Russia have to be paid for.
The first surgery went well, but in order to consolidate the recovery of vision, another surgical treatment is needed a few months after the first surgery.
However, time is running out, and with it the chances of restoring at least partial vision to the boy are melting. Let's not leave the boy and his mother alone in this disaster and give little Sunnatullo a chance to see his mother, who is ready to do anything for him!
