Georgy was born at term, with a rare genetic disease - Crouzon syndrome. The first surgery was done on the 28th day of his life, in Chelyabinsk. The next one, at 3 months of age, was performed there as well.
They enlarged his skull. The operations were not successful.
All the following surgeries were done in St. Petersburg in "Almazovo" and in Moscow, in V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky Scientific and Practical Center. But not all surgeries have been performed yet, the forehead, facial area and upper jaw will be done later, as the child gets older.
He was born with exophthalmus and divergent strabismus. This means that when he sleeps, his eyes do not close completely. He has to use expensive medicine three times a day to keep the cornea from drying out, which may lead to vision loss.
The child also has severe sleep apnea attacks. The boy has dental problems because of Crouzon's syndrome.
He has a large family, and a lot of money is spent on maintenance therapy and medications for George. They often have to fly to Moscow for treatment and examinations. This is why the family turns to us for help.
The boy will have many more operations as he grows, but now medicine is doing wonders! It is possible to fix everything and make him a full-fledged man!
