Thanks to you, the Fund paid 2 months of rent for Yulia and her foster children!

Thanks to you, we raised funds to provide housing for professional foster families. The initial plan was to assist three families, but we decided to focus on Yulia Bogacheva's family – as it has recently expanded. Julia has once again become a foster mother, welcoming Kira into her home. She is happy to witness Kira's new experiences. Even stepping outside to feel the snow or grass is a source of wonder for the girl. "Kira is a special kid; she is hearing-impaired. She spent the first three years of her life in an orphanage. Many adults encountered Kira, but none took her into their family. She doesn't know how to fight and loves everyone, greeting them with a smile. She may become a little overwhelmed because she lacks the means to express herself differently. Witnessing her emotional expressions is truly fascinating," shares Yulia. Yulia says that becoming a foster parent has always been her calling. She sees every achievement of these children as her own triumph, a source of her inner strength. “The ‘Sun City’ fund has provided me with a tremendous boost. The support from professionals and compassionate individuals is beyond measure. Thanks to everyone who contributed, making it possible to rent a spacious and comfortable residence for the children.”

Three foster families need to pay rent

"I think it's really cool to have a family like that, and not everyone is so lucky," says Lera, Yulia Bogacheva's blood daughter. Yulia is a mother and grandmother of many children, she has five natural children, and after her husband died, she trained at the foster parent school and became a mother to her two sisters, Vika and Sonya, and their older brother, Sasha, who is 15! Becoming a foster parent to several siblings at once, even if no teenager is among them, is not easy. But Yulia was always ready to give her children a family, love and care. The Andreevs are also experienced foster parents. When they took 3 brothers Lyosha, Maxim and Dima into the family, they were already raising two girls. Now, in addition to their older children, Olga and her husband are raising four foster children. The adaptation period with the boys was not easy at first, but family rules and lessons with a psychologist provided by the Foundation helped a lot. Now even the younger Dima started to help at home with the housework, almost stopped yelling and became very friendly. For the longest time he did not call Olga his mother, but now in the morning he holds out his hands and says good morning and can give her a hug and a kiss! Last summer Artyom, Marina and half a year old Mila became a part of the Shapin family. Mother Tatyana and father Vitaly were already parents to two older sons, a teenage girl and five-year-old Anya, who was adopted. The boys settled into their new family very quickly! At first Artem did not accept his parents, he was used to being a support for his younger sister Marina: constantly taking the blame for her, protecting her. Little Mila, who is one year old now, spent 6 months alone in the orphanage, and would have stayed there until she was 5, if Tatiana and Vitaliy hadn't taken them to the new spacious house. Now the children are doing as well as you can imagine. They feel safe and surrounded by love and care, and they are already starting to show their talents: Artem likes to take apart anything that can be taken apart (he could be a future constructor or engineer), Marina was born to dance and ballet, and Mila is a doll with the most charming smile! The children who are now being raised by the Bogachevs, Andreevs, and Shapin families were in the "hard to place" category when they lived in the orphanage: teenagers, several brothers and sisters who cannot be separated, and children with special needs. They are taken into families less often, because not everyone is ready for such responsibility, does not have support, or the size of their own housing does not allow. In the "New Family 2.0" project we want to change that. We select professional foster parents, our specialists (psychologists, lawyers) work with them around the clock, give advice on building relationships, support them during the period of adaptation. The Fund additionally compensates parents, and if necessary, helps them expand their living quarters. There are now 7 families in the project. This fundraiser will help us pay one month's rent for three families in Novosibirsk!
