Alina got her medicine!

In 2018, Alina went to the 1st grade. Long brown hair, a huge bow on her head, a cute bouquet for her first teacher, a new stage of life. Her favorite subject at school immediately became "The World Around Us." But in the middle of the school year she fell ill. After taking tests, the girl was put in the hospital. She was diagnosed with mediastinal neuroblastoma stage 4. This malignant tumor can arise in any part of the body along the spine. Alina's tumor was concentrated in the thoracic region (it affected the mediastinum, i.e. the middle area of the chest). Chemotherapy courses were started. There were seven hard courses, after which Alina went to Moscow to the Rogachev Republican Clinical Hospital. Alina underwent surgery to remove the tumor. After that, there was a bone marrow transplant, where Alina herself was a donor. Then she underwent 9 courses of taking medication to inhibit the tumor growth. Several times a year she and her mother go to the Dmitry Rogachev Scientific Research Center for bone marrow transplantation to know more about Alina's condition and treatment progress. There the girl undergoes a procedure in a special machine that illuminates malignant cells in the body. This is a long procedure, preparation for which begins several days in advance. Doctors inject Alina a special solution that contains a small amount of radiation, after which the girl begins to "phonize", at this point she cannot communicate with other children, contact with pregnant women and the elderly. The procedure itself lasts an hour and a half. Alina is in a machine that resembles an MRI, only not as noisy. And every millimeter of the body is being scanned and examined. If there are malignant cells in the small body, they are illuminated in bright red. The girl's body has such glow. And they need to be dealt with! "We need to continue treatment so that there is nothing glowing in the body, so that there are no signs of the disease. Then Alina will be in remission," says the mother. At the end of 2020, the girl underwent molecular oncology research. As a result, one of the genes was found to be malfunctioning. This breakdown is blocked by the drug Xalcori. In December 2021, Alina and her mother returned from Moscow once again. They went to be examined at the Dmitry Rogachev Scientific and Research Center for Diagnostics of Gastrointestinal Disorders. They underwent MIBG-therapy. The examination showed good results - no tumour nidi were found in the body. This means the treatment is correct, we have to continue it. Alina has already taken 14 courses of this medicine and treatment must not be interrupted. Only with this drug she is in stable remission. The girl needs one pack of the drug "Xalkori", which costs 215000 rubles.
