Abror had an operation to install a shunt!

Abror came to Moscow with his mother in search of medical help. At home, in Tajikistan, they don't perform such complicated operations. The baby was born with a difficult diagnosis - spina bifida. This is a congenital malformation of the spinal cord which develops in utero and has no known cause. Even in utero the vertebrae do not close and the spinal cord "falls out" of them, forming a hernia. The baby could not even be operated on at once, although usually they suture the hernia in the first day. Only when Abror was three months old in Dushanbe did he undergo his first important operation, a hernia on his back. Now the baby is 2 years old, and on the recommendation of local doctors, the family came to Moscow to undergo one more operation, to install a shunt. Abror's hydrocephalus - an accumulation of excess cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles (hollow spaces) inside the brain - began to grow. This leads to an increase in the size of the ventricles and excessive pressure on the brain. And externally, we see rapid growth of the head. The child experiences headaches and cannot fully develop intellectually. To stop the fluid buildup, a shunt operation is needed. A shunt takes the cerebrospinal fluid from the brain into the abdominal cavity (stomach), where it is absorbed by the body. This will relieve the pressure and reduce swelling in the brain. And without medicine, Abror is a smart and cheerful little guy. For breakfast he likes milk porridge, and for dinner he prefers vegetable soups. He enjoys listening to his mother reading him fairy tales. He watches cartoons. He is always coming into contact with other children, but he is still just beginning to say his first words. With his daddy, they often go for walks, where they explore the world around them - the trees, birds, flowers, plants, snow and rain. Abror is interested in everything! In order for Abror to develop further, he needs a shunt surgery as soon as possible. Children with spina bifida are intellectually stable. So Abror has a good chance of going to kindergarten, and then to school. But it is too expensive to pay for the surgery for a family where only his father works. We have already managed to raise part of the money. All that remains is to raise the missing part. Let's help Abror get to the important operation as soon as possible!
