One-year-old Georgy from Murmansk has hepatoblastoma. The initial period of this malignant disease often has no pronounced symptoms, so the child was not diagnosed until eight months after birth. The mother came to the local pediatrician with complaints of subfebrile temperature in her son. The doctor immediately suspected something was wrong and sent the boy to the city clinic hospital. There Georgiy was diagnosed with a tumor. The case was complicated, and the boy was referred to Moscow, to the Blokhin Institute. The diagnosis was confirmed. The treatment will be long and not simple. Several courses of chemotherapy might be required. If no positive effect is achieved, the next stage will be liver transplantation. For that we already need to find a potential donor. Unfortunately, the boy's mother was not a match. The child's father flew from Murmansk to Moscow on an emergency flight. He is a citizen of Uzbekistan and has no Russian citizenship, so the examination is only possible on a paid basis. The family has four children, and they cannot raise that kind of money quickly. The only way out for the family was to apply to a charitable foundation.
