Yasmina and Amirmohir are siblings. Their age difference is small, and the diagnosis is the same: Bayer's disease. It is a rare hereditary disease associated with a lack of enzymes and disorders of the formation and excretion of bile in the body. The only effective treatment today is a liver transplant. For the girl, the donor was her mother, but with Amir everything turned out to be more complicated. A donor was not found right away. Repeat donations are not permitted, so my mom couldn't become a donor for my son, either. Dad wasn't a match. But everything ended safely. In August 2019, the boy underwent a successful liver transplant from a related donor, an uncle.
Yasa is now ten and Amir is five. The children's condition is stable, and they are developing as normal children. The girl enjoys ballet and English, and her fidgety little brother goes to kindergarten, loves playing with cars and building a construction set.
In April 2022 the children are scheduled for checkup examinations at the FSBI "Akademik Fedorov Scientific and Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery". Shumakov. After transplantation the children have to take medication therapy for life. As they grow, the doctors have to adjust the dosage, so these examinations are very important.
