An excellent surgeon, Dr. Yeremin, diagnosed a ruptured cruciate ligament. A week later, Carrie was operated on and given encouraging prognoses for restoring mobility to her paw.
In order for the prognosis to hold true, the dog requires extended medical care, warmth and maximum rest after surgery.
This is simply not possible in a shelter. There is a huge risk that Carrie, always active outside her enclosure, will harm herself and the positive dynamic we are seeing now after the surgery will be disrupted.
This collection will allow us to arrange for Carrie's stay and rehabilitation at the Bambi Clinic's inpatient facility under the supervision of qualified doctors.
In all likelihood, this will mean that the wonderful shelter girl will be able to walk on all four of her paws again.
Let's give her a chance and give her time to recover.
