Sonya is six years old. The girl is a long-awaited child for her mother. A child who now cannot do without your help. From the very first month of her life, the neurologist noticed some weakness in Sonya's muscles and recommended massage and gymnastics. The girl was developing slower than her peers - later she began to turn over, later she crawled, and therefore doctors began to suspect that the cause could be some kind of illness. When Sonya was a year old, she suffered a dramatic regression in development - she began to have seizures with her head thrown back and constant crying. In the city where the family lived, they could not make a diagnosis. So they decided to go to St. Petersburg to do an extended genetic analysis. Three months were spent waiting for the result, but during that time, her parents saw Sonichka lose the usual skills: she stopped to get up and walk along the support, forgot her first words, lost interest in toys, and even reacted differently to her mother. Finally, an answer was received from doctors in St. Petersburg - the child had a rare incurable disease - Rett syndrome. All of her daughter's treatment must be taken care of by Sonya's courageous mother, because she is raising her alone. Today Sonya is six years old. She achieved a lot - she was able to take her daughter home from the NICU to live like all the other children. The charity fund "Vera" helped the family with the necessary equipment. Sonya has a cough syringe, a special wheelchair and a car seat for walks. Unfortunately, the girl still has severe seizures and convulsions. It would be more accurate to say that they became a constant companion of her and her mother's life. Sonya does not walk or talk, but loves funny songs, sunshine and bright toys. Every year, her mother takes Sonya to medical examinations in Moscow, where the girl is treated for anticonvulsive therapy. During her last hospitalization, because of her worsening condition, Sonya was strongly recommended a portable oxygen concentrator. It was necessary so that Sonya could breathe. She cannot go to the next planned hospitalization in September without it. The concentrator costs 371 thousand rubles. This is a lot of money for a family, which consists of a mother and a daughter.
