Each such "machine" costs 10-12 thousand rubles - and the pensions of the elderly ward are also about 10 thousand per month. The grandmothers and grandfathers deny themselves the necessities of life, save on food and medicine, and save a penny a year for firewood. They walk around the house in boots and coats. They take care of every log. For example, Valentina Ivanovna Bogdanova (on photo) from the town of Velizh of Smolensk region is 76 years old. She has been working in agriculture for 40 years - in the fields, with the cattle. Her salary was not large so she earned a very low pension but lost her health. A large part of her pension is spent on medicines. And in winter it is necessary to heat the house twice a day, otherwise not only the grandmother, the water in a bucket can freeze. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of such grandmothers and grandfathers. Now we need money to pay for firewood for 13 people. It is best to buy firewood in the summer: it should have time to dry out, and it won't happen in damp weather. It takes more than a day to put the firewood together. In addition, in the autumn slush or snowdrifts, many villages simply can't be reached by a heavily laden vehicle. Suppliers also raise prices for the heating season.
