Solekha has undergone neurosurgery

Solekha was born prematurely weighing just 500 grams. She was in hospital for several months to grow up and get stronger. At birth she was diagnosed with an abnormality which was later confirmed by doctors: occlusive hydrocephalus. This means that there is too much fluid in the head, an excess of which causes intracranial pressure, hypoxia and other serious consequences. The only treatment is neurosurgery. Unfortunately the family is in a difficult financial situation and is not able to pay for the operation. The parents need our help, because without the surgery the girl risks to become cripple. Left untreated hydrocephalus gradually leads to mental and physical retardation. Children with the condition can no longer catch up with their peers in learning, play and daily life skills. Doctors will use surgery to remove the excess fluid, which will help stop this destructive process. Now Solekha is only one year old and the earlier she undergoes the operation the better the chances to recover. Let's give the girl hope for a full life, a carefree childhood without hospitals!
