Sabina was born on June 14, 2018 at 32 weeks of pregnancy in Moscow. On the 4th day there was a cerebral hemorrhage, hydrocephalus, due to which the baby's visual pathways were damaged. Later, doctors diagnosed partial optic atrophy, strabismus, and nystagmus. The baby did not fix her eyes on objects until a year old and saw 10% of three-dimensional objects. As soon as the child stabilized, the parents began to be seriously engaged in restoration of vision.
It is known that a child's brain is very plastic. If we constantly carry out stimulation of the optic nerve, correct strabismus, it is possible to achieve quite good results.
Every three months Sabina undergoes rehabilitation in a rehabilitation clinic. These are courses of pleoptica and neurotrophy. Thanks to these procedures at the moment Sabina sees about 40% of objects and environment. Her prognosis is favorable. Doctors give hope regular rehabilitation can restore vision up to 90%. And Sabina has to undergo a new course of rehabilitation procedures very soon.
Despite the difficult start in life Sabina is growing up very positive, kind and sunny. There is a lot of love and kindness in her. She loves children and animals.
Almost the entire family budget is spent on the treatment and rehabilitation of the child. The endless consultations of specialists, procedures, examinations, rehabilitations are very draining financially. The family is asking for help, since there is not enough money to pay for the expensive treatment themselves.
