In the morning, our wards set off on a long-awaited journey. While still on the bus, the hippotherapy instructor began to prepare the children for the meeting with the horses, talking about their characters and habits. Upon arrival, the children had an excursion to the horse farm and acquaintance with the horses. Some saw horses for the first time. So that the children would not be afraid of such a large animal, the children rode horses in a sleigh before classes.
Due to co-financing, it was possible to organize not only a trip and hippotherapy classes, but also children with their parents were provided with hot meals.
After lunch, a hippotherapy instructor conducted an individual lesson for each child. The result of these exercises was immediately visible. In order to maintain the correct posture while riding, children learned to maintain balance, coordinate and synchronize their movements.
If at the very beginning many children were afraid to even approach the horse, then after the luge ride and the first lesson, they asked for more lessons and fed the horses from their hands without fear. Even after one session, some parents noted improvements in the emotional state of their children.
On the way back, both children and parents asked for more such classes. Thank you very much to tubers from special children of our Center for supporting the collection!
