No dog enters a shelter for the good life. Old habits often give out old problems: some press their ears when you try to stroke their head, some take their food in the far corner of the kennel for months on end. It can take years to rehabilitate a dog like Roy at a shelter, but if you put him in a rehabilitation center, the entire socialization process takes two to six months. He came to the shelter a few years ago as a young dog who was caught in a backyard in the south of Moscow. From the first days in the shelter, at the sight of a human he was huddled up in his kennel, curled up and trembled. In two years the volunteers made sure that he was not afraid of people so much, but there is still a lot of work to be done on his trust.
At the center he will receive daily comprehensive canine and zoopsychological support.
Now we are planning to place Roy for 2 months at the rehabilitation center where he will get some experience of regular human interaction during that time, he will also get some informational support (pictures, texts about his character) and that means he will get one step closer to his home life.
Let's help Roy become homeless and make his future owners happy!
