Thanks to your help, parents of children diagnosed with Spina Bifida were able to receive one-on-one counselling from a physical therapist.

On 3 and 4 May, the KDL Foundation plans to examine children with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida with specialist Islamiya Sadykova. Islamiya Sadykova is a physical therapist and an instructor - LFC/AFC methodologist. She works based on the scientific approach and principles of evidence-based medicine, using techniques that have been proven to be effective in international studies. During the examination Islamia determines rehabilitation goals, selects and adjusts wheelchairs, verticalisers. Teaches parents basic methods of preventing the development of contractures from a very early age in the form of stretching and styling. Also introduces the rules for correct positioning of the child when lying down, sitting up and uprighting. A consultative examination of children diagnosed with Spina Bifida is very important for prescribing further treatment and drawing up a rehabilitation programme for the child. And for parents, it is still a great opportunity to receive advice from a qualified specialist without having to travel outside the region.
