Twelve-year-old Margarita has a rare and incurable disease - cystic fibrosis. The respiratory system suffers because of it: viscous sputum clogs the lungs, preventing the girl from breathing freely. But with the right treatment this problem can be solved.
Rita was diagnosed only a year ago, but before that the child, who had had bronchitis and pneumonia since birth, was treated for a variety of diseases. Including tuberculosis.
Last year, the girl was sent for genetic testing, and it confirmed a mutation in her genes. With the targeted therapy, the child's condition stabilized to the point that she even started swimming and managed to participate in local competitions.
But in order to attend school, go to the pool regularly, and just live normally, three mandatory inhalations remain in her daily routine. When the disease worsens, the nebulizer starts working harder - six inhalations. The device has been working hard for a long time and cannot cope with the load. The girl needs a new nebulizer for full treatment.
And Rita also needs medications, since her tests revealed pathogenic and dangerous for cystic fibrosis flora. The antibiotic given to the family for free could not cope with it, so the doctors prescribed another medicine. If you get a free prescription, it will be given to you, at best, in a few months: the procurement procedure is a very long process. And the girl needs antibiotics as soon as possible, so that her condition does not worsen.
When the diagnosis is confirmed and there is treatment, the route to follow becomes clear.
