When Kirill was first born, his relatives were sure that the boy would grow up healthy and strong. The baby was developing just like other children and had almost begun to walk independently, but then problems began. One leg first became crooked, and then there was a fracture. It turned out that Kirill had a congenital false joint and a rare disease in which fractures do not heal on their own - neurofibromatosis.
Thanks to medication and the installation of a telescopic pin, the fracture healed and the bone was able to support the weight of the body. It took a long time for Kirill to learn to walk - cautiously and slowly, but independently. Now the pin is fully extended, and our ward needs a new surgery. Because of the disease, the difference in the length of the boy's legs increases every day, and the risk of new fractures and deformations increases.
Kirill watches his peers running and jumping, but he understands that he is not able to do that yet, even though he tries to be as active and independent as possible. Kirill is a very kind and generous boy: he loves animals very much, and also, if he is given a candy, he is always ready to share it with a friend.
Such surgeries are not available on a quota basis, which means that Kirill's family needs to collect a very large amount of money. Help our patient to cope with the disease and not to lose the ability to walk!
