Thanks to you, the Foundation was able to pay the rent of the flat for the wards to live in!

Most of the children being treated in Moscow are from the regions of Russia and CIS countries. These are children with the most severe diagnoses who could not be helped at their place of residence. Accommodation is necessary when the child is not hospitalized: during examinations, between courses of chemotherapy, while waiting for a donor organ transplant. Most families do not have the financial ability to rent an apartment in Moscow. In order to help these families, the Foundation created the project "Cozy Home", within the framework of which the Foundation rents apartments for families to live in near Moscow hospitals. Lyonya, who is currently waiting for a kidney transplant, lives in one of these apartments. Lyonya is 9 years old. The child was born with one kidney and hydronephrosis. This means constant examinations and treatment. Once a year, Lyon and his mother come from Kursk to Moscow for scheduled examinations and treatment at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital. In 2014, the boy underwent surgery for a ureteral transplant. As time passed, his only kidney stopped working. And in December 2022, the child's condition worsened and he was hospitalized at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital. The only way to return to a full life was a kidney transplant. Unfortunately, according to medical indications, a relative kidney was not suitable, and it is difficult to predict how long to wait for a donor. "Thanks to the Cozy Home project, we are not trapped within hospital walls, but live in a beautiful apartment provided by the foundation. It is impossible to rent an apartment by ourselves, our family consists of me and my son, and it is vital for us to live near the hospital. The apartment has everything we need, a dialysis machine. Now we are not tied to the hospital regime, the child can walk, play whenever he wants. While waiting for the surgery, Lyonya is living a full life, thank you for that, because his son will not have a second childhood," - says the boy's mother Elena.
