In 2023, the problems of stray animals are acute for the whole country. One of the measures is the OSVV method: capture, sterilization, vaccination, and release into the habitat. The point of the method is to humanely reduce the number of street animals. At the state level there are difficulties with implementation - it is expensive, in many regions there are no conditions, including the base in the form of municipal shelters.
In practice, private shelters are more often guided by the improved principle of "Catch, Sterilize, Vaccinate, Release - in a home to a trustworthy owner". Because their task is to ensure that the pets are well kept and find an owner, the environment is not always safe for street dogs and cats.
Dogs, especially those traumatized by humans, often behave aggressively when they enter shelters. This delays socialization, complicates treatment and transportation, and cages deteriorate catastrophically quickly. Animals bend bars, break them and plastic bottoms. Someone - from fear, someone from excess of strength and desire to share the sea of positive energy with the world around them.
More than 150 dogs live in the Yaroslavl shelter "Vita". Only 2 out of 13 cages are left, and both of them have bent bars, the bottom is still holding. In order for the shelter staff and the pets themselves to be safe, it is necessary to buy 4 cages.
Let's help to establish a safe life in the shelter "Vita"!
