People often turn to Hospice at Home as a last chance - when it seems that all options have been exhausted.
The staff of the district polyclinic repeatedly suggested to the patient's daughters that their mother be placed in a psychoneurological boarding school - the woman suffered from dementia, could not stand up, and had bedsores all over her body. The daughters could not cope on their own. Their father also had a serious chronic illness and needed care. During the years of illness of both parents, the family's resources were exhausted - it was hard both financially and psychologically.
After the daughters called the hotline, the Hospice at Home team immediately got involved in the situation. Nurses helped to comfortably organize the patient's space, doctors selected pain relief therapy. In a few months, the bedsores were cured and the woman's well-being improved. At the same time her husband was diagnosed with cancer - Hospice at Home began to help him as well.
The family's care lasted 8 months. Until the very end, Hospice at Home was in touch with the patients' daughters around the clock.
Thanks to your support, the "Hospice at Home" hotline continues to work 24/7 to help seriously ill people and their loved ones - thank you!
