Ayda is 11 years old. Until the age of 3, the girl grew up as a healthy child, able to run and jump. After a thorough examination, the child was diagnosed with hypotrophic cardiomyopathy with Friedreich's Ataxia, bronchial asthma and several other diagnoses.
With adequate and regular treatment, it is possible to halt the progression of the disease, avoid complications and preserve the patient's ability to lead an active life for a long time.
Physical therapy plays a huge role in the life of patients with Friedreich's ataxia. Regular physical therapy sessions aimed at training coordination and muscle strength help to maintain motor activity and manage pain.
