With your help, Ivan completed a rehabilitation course!

Ivan is 5 years old, the boy was born on time, and at 11 months he had an ischemic stroke and, as a result, paralyzed the left part of his body. Ivan had to relearn how to roll over, sit and walk. During further examinations, Vanya was found to have blood clotting disorders – thrombophilia, which caused the stroke. Every day of the boy begins with classes, and rehabilitation courses are planned for a year ahead. Thanks to this, the left leg began to recover. At the age of 2, Vanya walked, leaning on his right leg, dragging his left. Now Vanya has already learned to walk confidently enough, limping on his left leg; he can lift his left hand and hold large objects with it. The boy is talking, but there are difficulties with pronunciation of sounds. In general, doctors make favorable predictions with regular classes. The left arm, especially the hand, is recovering very hard and slowly. It was at the Rodnik Center that we found unique specialists who are engaged in hand therapy. The goal of rehabilitation was determined jointly with rehabilitologists – to improve the flexion and extensor function of the fingers of the left hand, so that Vanya could use his left hand more actively in everyday life. Another important task that needs to be solved is the improvement of facial muscles for speech correction.
